Altiplanic Lagoons

Miscanti and Miñiques, also known as the Altiplanic Lagoons, are located above 400 mts msl, 115 Southeast of San Pedro de Atacama. Their landscapes, set on the furthest end of Los Flamencos National Reserve, are a mixture of desert, mountains, water, and ice as a result of the the extremely low local temperatures. This is why it is recommended to wear warm, thick clothes when visiting the area.
