Alphonsa cosmetics stores was started 3 decades ago ( in 1985) at Palai by Mr .T .N . Joseph. After 10 years at eranakulam when he started a branch ,it was the first of this kind of shop at this evergrowing city . This location was selected then, because it was one of the busiest commercial centres of the biggest city in Kerala and the state's commercial capital.
