Hidden on a side street just behind the Trevi Fountain, al Moro has been Rome's home to literati and politicians for nearly 90 years. Known as one of the best Roman restaurants for its excellent faithfulness to quality Roman cuisine, al Moro also adds a bit of flair to traditional dishes like gruyere cheese with ovuli mushrooms or dark chocolate poured into zabaglione. Dishes to look for are any fish dish, tagliatelle with shaved truffles or the favorite spaghetti with clams. Al Moro's wine list is excellent. Space is elbow room and lighting is low so be prepared for a bit of a fight for your comfort zone.
