Abereiddy Bay Beach
Abereiddy, Pembrokeshire, St David's, Pembrokeshire, Wales
About
Abereiddi beach is famous for its black sand full of tiny fossils. Abereiddi nestles in a sheltered bay. It's one of Pembrokeshire's pebble backed storm beaches. All the pebble banks, like the one at Newgale, were created by a huge storm in 1859. Nearby is the Blue Lagoon, a flooded slate quarry regarded as an important geological feature. Abereiddi is on the northern coast of St Davids Peninsula, about 5 miles away from St Davids itself. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path passes the beach. The walk from Abereiddi to Porthgain is one of the best stretches along the entire coast path.
