The best thing about visiting Saudi Arabia is the beauty of desert plains and the hidden gems of this country always blow people’s minds. There’s way more to Saudi Arabia than the famed holy cities of Madinah and Mecca and with this 5-day trip, you’ll end bringing home priceless memories. We will land in Riyadh, the capital and largest city in the country, where we can see the Murabba Palace, or former home of King Abdulaziz and one of his wives, who moved out from their former royal court at Al Masmak. Since we’re already in the neighborhood, we’ll also visit King Abdulaziz’s Historical Park, a great place to relax and snap some pictures, the hall where King Abdulaziz’s cars are put on display, before going on a shopping spree at Souq Dira. We’ll also visit another former royal home, Al Masmak, or Masmak Fort. From Riyadh, we head to Abha, home of wondrous mix of history and nature. The mud-walled Shada Castle is the most popular sight easily seen from across the city as it stood strong with the architecture still very well-preserved. From Abha, we head to the highest point in Saudi Arabia, which is Jabal Sawda and the peak of Al Hajar mountain range, Jabal Al Akhdar. On the slope of the mountain before reaching Jabal Sawda is the Cloud Park, Al Sahab Park. The place brags a breathtaking view of the mountain and where visitors can enjoy fresh air and delicious food. Away from the mountains, we return back to the city before we leave, with Jeddah as our final city. This crowded port city is the gateway to Madinah and Mecca with many landmarks and interesting things to see. We’ll visit Al Shafi Mosque, an impressive place of worship for Muslims that ticked many achievements, earning it a place in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. There’s also Beit Nassif, the historical north gate Bab Jadeed, and finally, the beautiful New Jeddah Corniche which is a favorite place for locals to spend on weekends to just relax while enjoying the view and cool breeze.
