Day 1: Arrival Tt Chennai
After breakfast, city tour of Chennai - the sprawling and gracious city on the 'Bay of Bengal' is the fourth largest city in India. Visit the Fort St. George once a strong-hold of the British, San Thome Cathedral, Marina Beach and the beautiful Mylapore temple. Overnight stay at chennai.
Day 2: Chennai To Pondicherry
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Pondichery. Check into hotel / resort. Day free to relax at hotel. Overnight stay at Pondichery.
Day 3: Pondicherry Sightseeing Tour
After breakfast city tour of Pondicherry - visit the Eglise De Sacre Coeur De Jesus and Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Later visit township of Auroville or the 'City of Dawn'. Designed by a French architect Roger Arger, it is an entirely new concept in education and urban living. Overnight stay at pondicherry.
Day 4: Pondicherry To Tanjore
Morning drive to Tanjore Upon arrival, check-in at hotel. After visit Tanjore - Once the capital of the Chola Empire from the tenth to the fourteenth centuries. A Chola king, Raja Chola, who held the throne from 985 to 1016, built the greatest of the empire's 74 temples, the Brahadeeswarar, with its soaring tower over the inner sanctum. This tower rises more than 62 meters (200 feet). On its dome rests a single block of granite weighing 80 tons. Overnight stay at Tanjore.
Day 5: Tanjore To Madurai
Morning drive to Madurai and upon arrival check-in at hotel. After noon visit the Meenakshi temple one of the biggest temple complex in India - it is 46 ft. long by 790 ft broad and was built in the 17th Century. It is a rectangular twin shrine: the southern temple dedicated to Meenakshi (the consort of Shiva) and the other to Shiva. The high point of the Meenakshi temple is Hall of a "Thousand Pillars", built in the 16th C which is as great a work of structural engineering as it is of art. Overnight stay at madurai.
Day 6: Madurai To Rameshwaram
Morning drive to Rameshwaram. Rameshwaram is an island situated on the tip of the Indian peninsula. The city is also an important south India pilgrimage center of the Indians. It is the place from where Lord Rama had built a bridge across the sea to rescue his consort Sita.This is the place where Rama worshipped Lord Shiva to cleanse away the sin of Ravana. Both the Vaishnavites and Shaivites visit this pilgrimage city. Evening back to Madurai. Overnight stay at Rameshwaram.
Day 7: Departure From Madurai
