Going on a trip through paths that have been designed for you to walk on is easy, but what you might be seeking is rough paths that aren’t yet known by many. Treading through the wild bushes, entering a whole new world that many don’t know exist yet is the charm of this trip. And what do you know, Saudi Arabia is haven of many geographical charms ranging from beautiful national parks to oases with clear spring water. The Madain Saleh tour has been a favorite for many, as we get to explore the old ruins of past kingdoms, an archaeological site that’s pretty much as amazing as Petra: Hegra. Not far from the ruins is the Hejaz Railway which is a historical construction that connected Damascus to Medina. Then visit the naturally formed Elephant Rock for some Instagrammable pictures. Wadi Al Disah, conveniently situated between Riyadh and Tabuk, is a beautiful valley located within Prince Mohammed bin Salman Natural Reserve. Palm trees line up the valley which is also an archaeological site to see Nabataean tombs that were excavated here. A city of snow-capped mountain, Tabuk, brings about just as miraculous sights as Wadi Al Disah. Souq Twaheen provides a unique shopping experience that sells Bedouin needs, while Tayeb Al-Ism is another valley that’s been dubbed as a hidden paradise for many. It’s nestled between tall cliffs that leads to the turquoise sea of Aqaba Gulf and several small coastal towns. As we take our time walking through the valley, one can’t help but feel like they’re on an exciting adventure to an unchartered area of the land. Definitely not to be missed is Abha, a city located on an altitude, hence its cooler temperature and greener land. It’s well known for its dense juniper forests, as well as the restored mud-walled Shada Castle and Al-Muftaha village’s stone houses. And finally as the finishing touch, we’ll visit the highest point in Saudi Arabia: Jabal Sawda. The view is truly priceless, and only gets better as we explore around the peak and maybe even spend the afternoon here as you enjoy your lunch.
