Propitiously located at the point where the Ganges emerges from the Himalaya, Haridwar (also called Hardwar) is Uttarakhand’s holiest Hindu city, and pilgrims arrive here in droves to bathe in the fast-flowing Ganges. The sheer number of people gathering around Har-ki-Pairi Ghat give Haridwar a chaotic but reverent feel.

Day-wise Itinerary
ExpandDay 1: Arrival At Delhi - Drive To Haridwar
- Pick up from Delhi Railway Station/Airport and drive to Haridwar.
- Haridwar is measured very holy, as this is the point from where the anges emerges from the Himalayas to begin its slow progress across the plains. The main ghat 'Har ki Pauri' (the footsteps of God) is suppose to be the precise spot where the Ganges leaves the mountains and enters the plains. Thus the river's power to wash away sins at this spot is superlative and endorsed by a footprint of Vishnu left on a stone here.
- On arrival, check in hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2: Haridwar Sightseeing
- After breakfast, visit local temples, Ashrams, Ghats, go for shopping and also enjoy the evening aarti on the ghats of river Ganga.
- Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 3: Haridwar To Rishikesh (25kms/ Approx 1hr)
- After breakfast, check out from the hotel and then drive to Rishikesh. After a short drive arrive at Rishikesh and check into hotel.
- Later, visit the local temples and world famous Lakshman Jhoola and in the evening enjoy aarti on the ghats of river Ganga.
- Return to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 4: Departure
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive back to Delhi. Drop at railway station/airport for your train/flight to onward journey.
